Dr. Kristina (Kiki) Gorbatenko-Roth, a licensed psychologist (MN), specializes in Psychodermatology, the interface of psychology and dermatology. She researches behavioral-health integration into Alopecia Areata (AA) dermatology clinics and quality of life impacts of hair loss. She and her colleagues developed the Scale of Alopecia Areata Distress (SAAD-41), a validated measure of AA psychosocial burden. Kiki is a board member of the Association for Psychocutaneous Medicine of North America, an informal consultant to the National Alopecia Areata Foundation and the Scarring Alopecia Foundation; industry consultant; Professor of Psychology (University of Wisconsin-Stout) and Assistant Adjunct Professor, Department of Dermatology (University of Minnesota-Twin Cities); and an AA patient of 20+ years.
